MLB Instant Replay 106: Marty Foster (02)

Instant Replay Review overturned 1B Umpire Marty Foster's out call in the top of the 2nd inning of the Yankees-Rays game. With none out and one on, Yankees batter Ichiro Suzuki bunted a 0-0 fastball from Rays pitcher Erik Bedard on the ground to third baseman Evan Longoria, who threw to first baseman James Loney as Ichiro arrived at first base. Upon Instant Replay Review as the result of a challenge by Yankees Manager Joe Girardi, Foster's ruling that Loney caught the ball and tagged first base prior to Ichiro's touch arrival was reversed, the call was incorrect. At the time of the review, the Yankees were leading, 3-0.

This is Marty Foster (60)'s second Instant Replay Review of 2014.
Marty Foster is now 0/2 (.000 Affirmation Rate) in Replay Reviews in 2014.
Crew Chief Joe West's crew is now 3/6 (.500 Affirmation Rate) in Replay Reviews in 2014.

This is the 106th Instant Replay Review of the 2014 MLB Regular Season.
Yankees Manager Joe Girardi is now 3/6 (.500 Success) in Instant Replay Reviews during 2014.
Umpires are now 67/106 (.632 Affirmation Rate) in Instant Replay Reviews during the 2014 MLB season.

Wrap: New York Yankees vs. Tampa Bay Rays, 4/18/14

Hang on shouldn't it say Girardi is 3/5 in instant replay reviews cause I don't remember him asking for 6 reviews.

I think that "instant replay reviews" includes crew chief reviews and not just the managers challenges, so that could account for the sixth review. At least that is what I can gauge from the stats Gil wrote out in his weekly Sabermetrics post.

I know that I was including all the plays he challenged and asked for a review

Girardi is featured in:

MLB Replay & Ejection: Bob Davidson (5, 1; John Farrell)
MLB Instant Replay Review 032: Dana DeMuth (03)
MLB Instant Replay Review 029, 031: Dana DeMuth (01, 02)

Replay Review 023: Brian Knight (01), which is the record keeping (count) review, which came about because all reviews are assigned an associated team/manager. I'll review it and may end up charging it to Houston/Bo Porter based on the Astros catcher's request for clarification as opposed to the Yankee batter's.
