MLB Instant Replay Review 250: Jeff Nelson (03)

Instant Replay Review overturned 2B Umpire Jeff Nelson's safe call in the top of the 1st inning of the Royals-Mariners game. With none out and two on, Royals batter Billy Butler hit a 0-0 fastball from Mariners pitcher Brandon Maurer on the ground to third baseman Willie Bloomquist, who threw to second baseman Robinson Cano as Royals baserunner R1 Eric Hosmer slid into second base. Upon Replay Review as the result of a challenge by Mariners Manager Lloyd McClendon, Nelson's ruling was reversed, the call was incorrect. At the time of the review, the Royals were leading, 1-0. The Royals ultimately won the contest, 6-1.
