Injury: Muchlinski Takes Foul to Mask, Leaves Game

HP Umpire Mike Muchlinski was injured on a foul ball to the mask during Thursday's White Sox-Twins game.

Muchlinski is evaluated after the damaging hit.
With one out and none on in the top of the 4th inning, White Sox batter Alexei Ramirez fouled a 1-1 fastball from Twins pitcher Yohan Pino off White Sox catcher Kurt Suzuki's glove and into Muchlinski's protective face mask.

Muchlinski remained in the game for the remainder of the top and bottom of the 4th inning as 1B Umpire Mark Wegner returned to the umpire's dressing room to put on his plate gear. Muchlinski left the game prior to the top of the 5th inning with Wegner replacing him at home plate, Andy Fletcher serving as first base umpire and Chris Segal remaining at third base in the three-man crew.

If a concussion is diagnosed or as a precaution, Muchlinski will be placed on MLB's 7-day Concussion List.
