MLB Instant Replay Review 519: Mark Carlson (06)

Instant Replay Review overturned 1B Umpire Mark Carlson's out call in the top of the 6th inning of the Rays-Astros game. With one out and two on, Rays batter Desmond Jennings hit a 3-2 cutter from Astros pitcher Jerome Williams on the ground to shortstop Jonathan Villar, who threw to second baseman Marwin Gonzalez to first baseman Jesus Guzman as Jennings arrived at first base, Rays baserunner R1 Jose Molina out at second. Upon Replay Review as the result of a challenge by Rays Manager Joe Maddon, Carlson's ruling was reversed, the call was incorrect. At the time of the review, the Astros were leading, 3-2. The Rays ultimately won the contest, 4-3.
