MLB Replay Reviews 538-539: Iassogna, Scott (07, 06)

Instant Replay Review upheld 2B Umpire Dan Iassogna's out call in the top of the 1st and confirmed 1B Umpire Dale Scott's out call in the top of the 9th inning of the Mariners-Padres game. In the 1st, with one out and one on, Mariners baserunner R1 Endy Chavez attempted to steal second base off Padres catcher Rene Rivera, who threw to shortstop Everth Cabrera as Chavez slid into the bag. Upon Replay Review as the result of a challenge by Mariners Manager Lloyd McClendon, Iassogna's ruling was affirmed, the call was correct. At the time of the review, the game was tied, 0-0.

In the 9th, with none out and none on, Mariners batter Dustin Ackley hit a 0-1 changeup from Padres pitcher Huston Street on the ground to shortstop Cabrera, who threw to first baseman Yasmani Grandal as Ackley arrived at first base. Upon Replay Review as the result of a request by Mariners Manager McClendon and initiation by Crew Chief Dale Scott, Scott's ruling was affirmed, the call was correct. At the time of the review, the Padres were leading, 2-1. The Padres ultimately won the contest, 2-1.
