MLB Ejection 184: Brian O'Nora (1; Kevin Cash)

1B Umpire Brian O'Nora ejected Rays Manager Kevin Cash for arguing an out call in the bottom of the 3rd inning of the Royals-Rays game. With two out and three on, Rays batter Logan Forsythe hit a 0-0 changeup from Royals pitcher Edinson Volquez on the ground to shortstop Alcides Escobar, who threw to first baseman Eric Hosmer as Forsythe arrived at first base; the play was not challenged because the Rays unsuccessfully attempted to challenge an out call in the 1st inning. Replays indicate Forsythe's foot made contact with first base prior to Hosmer catching the ball, the call was incorrect. At the time of the Royals were leading, 3-2. The Royals ultimately won the contest, 3-2.

With one out and none on, Sandoval hit a 1-2 splitter from Mets pitcher Tyler Clippard on the ground near home plate, fielded by catcher Travis d'Arnaud. Replays indicate d'Arnaud first touched the baseball while it was in fair territory, the call was correct. At the time of the ejection, the game was tied, 3-3. The Red Sox ultimately won the contest, 6-4, in 10 innings.

HP Umpire David Rackley ejected Padres Interim Manager Pat Murphy for arguing a prior inning's foul ball call (USC-DiMuro) in the top of the 7th inning of the Padres-Nationals game. In the preceding bottom of the 6th inning with two out and one on, Nationals batter Bryce Harper hit a 2-1 sinker from Padres pitcher Marc Rzepczynski on the ground to first base, the ball ruled foul by Rackley for having struck Harper's lower leg while he was in the batter's box. Replays indicate that the batted ball did not appear to make contact with Harper's leg and that Murphy visited Rackley to discuss the call when it occurred in the 6th inning before being ejected arguing the call in the 7th (Repeat Visit - DiMuro Rule), the call was irrecusable. At the time of the ejection, the Nationals were leading, 8-3. The Nationals ultimately won the contest, 8-3.

With two out and none on, Mets pitcher Hansel Robles attempted to pitch to Phillies batter Darin Ruf before Ruf was ready to receive the pitch. Replays indicate that Ruf was not looking in the direction of the pitcher's mound when Bellino called time, the call was irrecusable. At the time of the ejection, the Mets were leading, 6-5. The Mets ultimately won the contest, 6-5.
