It is...Where did you find that Basner is a call-up? It is not on MLB's website. The only new call-ups I have seen this year are Tyler Funnemann, Mark Lollo and Clint Fagan all of whom are crew Chiefs. At least I haven't found it. You are right that some umps are not assigned to crews such as Muchlinski, Estabrook, Campos, Reyburn, Porter, Carapazza and Blaser. Those umps end up working most of the season in the MLB so it would be pointless to have them on a crew and end up rarely being there. The only Triple A crew chief that really missed a lot of the year was Chris Conroy. I think MLB really fell in love with him and combined with all the injuries, I think he got more assignments than originally anticipated.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4917712291092871273.post-57839449160099043042011-09-14T11:02:27.649-07:002011-09-14T11:02:27.649-07:00@ Anonymous 10.47pm - You are wrong in saying that...@ Anonymous 10.47pm - You are wrong in saying that all call-ups are crew chiefs in AAA. Some are not even asigned to crews. They are called rovers. Oliver is close to O'Nora in the alphabet so it's possible the person who put in the umps clicked on Oliver's name by mistake meaning to put O'Nora. I did not see this game so I do not know who actually worked.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4917712291092871273.post-428265484718846122011-09-13T22:23:27.558-07:002011-09-13T22:23:27.558-07:00Dan Oliver mysteriously became BRIAN ONORA within ...Dan Oliver mysteriously became BRIAN ONORA within the past hour..Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4917712291092871273.post-76789131176750364092011-09-13T17:20:52.239-07:002011-09-13T17:20:52.239-07:00Tonights Box score with the Rapuano crew:

That is absolutely ridiculous that MLB is doing a two faced thing here, praising and advertising the Mets paying tribute by wearing hats and fining them from doing so at the same time.
