Ramirez wasn't looking, and there's no way Guillen could see any of it.

Part of the problem here is ignorance, and our expectation that these people actually know the rules. You have no idea how many times someone has tried to tell me a ball was foul because it touched the plate.

And while I thought the Sox commentators actually took it easy on this tape, they are horrible. The Cubs announcers are some of the best I've heard. They are fair and knowlegable, especially Bob Brenly.Jon Terryhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08536926849992961224noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4917712291092871273.post-7643798755188250502011-06-21T07:18:12.682-07:002011-06-21T07:18:12.682-07:00Hell yeah James Hoye. I don't think that all catchers would have been as good humoured as Soto was about having his mask kicked. Remember when Joe West tossed Ozzie over a very very clear and correct obstruction call? The Cubs broadcast showed the full play, including the contact between R1 and F6. Meanwhile, the White Sox broadcast picked up the action only after the contact had occurred. Watching the Sox broadcast, you would have never known there was contact nor that obstruction was called.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4917712291092871273.post-16722893420693550462011-06-21T00:13:41.690-07:002011-06-21T00:13:41.690-07:00This is a great call. Brilliant.

The White Sox commentary is so brutal, every time. And after the last angle shows the ball is clearly still on the plate, they still act like it is foul.Cricketnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4917712291092871273.post-30457543659193204642011-06-20T23:56:17.614-07:002011-06-20T23:56:17.614-07:00Great umpire, great call.Great umpire, great call.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4917712291092871273.post-56478759971684731682011-06-20T23:40:53.141-07:002011-06-20T23:40:53.141-07:00The posted video "Hoye Runs Ozzie" is fr...The posted video "Hoye Runs Ozzie" is from the White Sox broadcast. I love how Ozzie is pointing to a spot about a foot from where the catcher touched the ball. Hoye should have told the Cubs catcher to stay at the plate while Ozzie gets his mask and brings it back to him. He's a joke. Him and Charlie Manuel are never right when they argue.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4917712291092871273.post-14192312457610763592011-06-20T19:48:47.306-07:002011-06-20T19:48:47.306-07:00Chicago Tribune is calling it a blown call: http:/...Chicago Tribune is calling it a blown call: http://www.chicagotribune.com/sports/baseball/whitesox/chi-guillen-ejected-over-blown-call-in-sixth-inning-20110620,0,4719813.storyAnonymousnoreply@blogger.com
