Ejections: Mike Muchlinski (2)

  1. Looked out to me. Tough call though.

  2. I"m really confused why Muchlinski doesn't get more games... Unless his height hurts him that much. I know MLB wants tall thin.. and that's got them to the point umpiring is as bad as it has EVER been. Unless that's Randy Marsh with the first comment about the call being wrong... I'd expect him to see plenty of time this season.. Good call Mike

  3. What the heck, catchers don't have to make tags on close plays at the plate?

    Good call, BTW.

  5. It is an unwritten rule of baseball that, in a league where steamrolling the catcher is permitted, if the catcher is run over and holds the ball, the runner is out regardless of whether or not a tag is made.

  6. Even the catcher didn't seem to have a problem with the call, maybe asked for a little clarification, but he accepted the call, which looked great to me BTW.

@tmac, I agree Muchlinski looks great out there, much better than the likes of Tichenor, or *yuck* Campos.

Yeah, whats that, don't have to make tags on a collision play? Put that to the extreme test, a catcher with his glove hand stretched out catches the ball makes no attempt to tag the runner on a non-force play, the runner makes contact with the catcher and the runner is out...Am I missing something.

  7. Mark Wegner is short,Jerry Meals is short-so comment #1 doesn't seem to make a lot of sense.

The tag was high, from the angles shown it appears that his foot got the plate before the high tag was put on. I say good, correct, call

  8. Great slide by Morgan and an even better call by Muchlinski. I agree also with tmac, why does the likes of Adrian Johnson get promoted when this guy is out there?

  9. @ anon.. if you really don't know why Johnson is in the bigs (though I think he is deserving in due time) and why Porter will be a big league umpire or why Beal got fired and rehired before getting released after 2010 when struggling to be a good GCL umpire then you are most liklely blind and I will let someone else explain to you how MLB works ;)

  10. Johnson more likely got promoted cause of his color, MLB needs the minorities in baseball as well...same with Porter.

  11. Loving the line in the recap - "in fact, he disagrees so much that he takes an early shower."

"Johnson more likely got promoted cause of his color"

That statement is offensive. AJ is a great young umpire. He deserves his position.
