MLB Ejection 008: Jim Reynolds (1; Cliff Pennington)

HP Umpire Jim Reynolds ejected Diamondbacks shortstop Cliff Pennington for arguing a called third strike in the bottom of the 7th inning of the Dodgers-Diamondbacks game. With none out and two on, Pennington took a 0-2 sinker from Dodgers pitcher Ronald Belisario for a called third strike. Replays indicate the pitch was located at the thighs on over the inner half of home plate (px .704, pz 1.849; sz_bot 1.57), the call was correct. At the time of ejection, the Dodgers were leading, 6-1. The Dodgers ultimately won the contest, 7-5.

This is Jim Reynolds (77)'s first ejection of 2013.

  1. This is why i love Kirk GIbson!! Only comes out to make sure when player goes to retrieve splintered bat he's not going back towards umpire sees he's picking up the remnents of his bat and goes back to the dugout. If they all were this easy!

  3. that pitched looked pretty good,
    i do like the d-backs, but honestly, i don't think pennington had much of an argument and gibson did the right thing, looked like he started to come out just to make sure pennington didn't do anything to get himeself suspended,
