MLB Ejection 022: Seth Buckminster (1; Daniel Murphy)

HP Umpire Seth Buckminster ejected Mets 2B Daniel Murphy for arguing a strike three call in the bottom of the 10th inning of the Marlins-Mets game. With one out and one on, Murphy took a 1-2 slider from Marlins pitcher Steve Cishek for a called third strike. Replays indicate the pitch was located off the outer edge of home plate and belt high (px -1.16, pz 2.25), the call was incorrect. At the time of the ejection, the Marlins were leading, 7-6. The Marlins ultimately won the contest, 7-6.

(In the top of the 9th, Instant Replay Review overturned 1B Umpire Mike Muchlinski's safe call as the result of a challenge by Mets Manager Terry Collins.)

This is Seth Buckminster (67)'s first ejection of 2014.
Seth Buckminster now has -1 points in the UEFL (3 Prev + 3 AAA - 1 Pen - 4 IC = -1).

  3. Somebody may want to tell the rookie that he may want to get the call right if he's going to toss somebody that quickly...

  5. I call BS. That pitch caught the back corner of the plate on the overhead view

  6. I initially thought the same thing, but the pitch f/x numbers usually don't lie. I can only think that the overhead camera is somewhat slanted.

  7. Then you truly do not understand the game.

  8. The pitch f/x doesn't take into consideration the strike zone is 3D
