MLB Instant Replay Review 163: Lance Barksdale (01)

Instant Replay Review confirmed 1B Umpire Lance Barksdale's out call in the top of the 9th inning of the Cubs-Brewers game. With two out and none on, Cubs batter Starlin Castro hit a 2-2 fastball from Brewers pitcher Francisco Rodriguez on the ground to shortstop Jeff Bianchi, who threw to first baseman Mark Reynolds as Castro arrived at first base. Upon Instant Replay Review as the result of a challenge by Cubs Manager Rick Renteria, Barksdale's ruling Reynolds caught the ball and tagged first base prior to Castro's touch arrival was affirmed, the call was correct.
