MLB Instant Replay Review 411: Paul Emmel (05)

Instant Replay Review upheld 2B Umpire Paul Emmel's safe call in the top of the 4th inning of the Cubs-Brewers game. With none out and one on, Cubs batter Junior Lake hit a 0-0 fastball from Brewers pitcher Wily Peralta on the ground to third baseman Mark Reynolds, who threw to second baseman Scooter Gennett as Cubs baserunner Emilio Bonifacio slid into second base. Upon Replay Review as the result of a challenge by Brewers Manager Ron Roenicke, Emmel's ruling was affirmed, the call was correct. At the time of the review, the contest was tied, 0-0. The Cubs ultimately won the contest, 8-0.
