MLB Replay Reviews 490-491: Fagan, Tichenor (08, 04)

Instant Replay Review overturned 1B Umpire Clint Fagan's safe call in the top of the 3rd and confirmed HP Umpire Todd Tichenor's out call in the bottom of the 6th inning of the Padres-Phillies game. In the 3rd, with none out and one on, Phillies batter Ben Revere bunted a 0-1 fastball from Padres pitcher Eric Stults on the ground to first baseman Yonder Alonso, who threw to second baseman Alexi Amarista as Revere arrived at first base. Upon Replay Review as the result of a challenge by Padres Manager Bud Black, Fagan's ruling was reversed, the call was incorrect. At the time of the review, the Padres were leading, 2-1.

In the 6th, with none out and two on, Phillies batter Will Nieves hit a 0-2 fastball from Padres pitcher Dale Thayer on the ground to third baseman Chase Headley, who threw to catcher Yasmani Grandal as Phillies baserunner R3 John Mayberry slid into home plate. The Phillies ultimately won the contest, 7-3.
