MLB Ejection 109: Alfonso Marquez (1; Kevin Long)

HP Umpire Alfonso Marquez ejected Yankees Batting Coach Kevin Long for arguing a strike three call in the bottom of the 6th inning of the Rays-Yankees game. With two out and two on, Yankees batter Alfonso Soriano took a 2-2 cutter from Rays pitcher David Price for a called third strike. Replays indicate the pitch was located over the outer edge of home plate and belt high (px .929, pz 2.387), the call was correct. At the time of the ejection, the Rays were leading, 2-1. The Rays ultimately won the contest, 2-1.

This is Alfonso Marquez (72)'s first ejection of the 2014 MLB Regular Season.
