Injury Scout - CB Bucknor Taken Out by Foul Ball

CB Bucknor left Friday's Twins-Royals game as the result of a foul ball head injury.

With one out and three on in the top of the 8th inning, Twins batter Miguel Sano fouled a 92.9 miles-per-hour fastball from Royals pitcher Joakim Soria into the middle portion of Bucknor's hockey-style mask.

Bucknor was replaced behind home plate by 2B Umpire and Crew Chief Fieldin Culbreth, while base umpires Manny Gonzalez (1B) and Mark Carlson (3B) officiated the field for the rest of the contest.

Relevant Injury History: Prior to Friday's injury, CB Bucknor's most recent departure due to a head injury at home plate occurred on July 12, 2013, when Bucknor was struck by a deflected fastball.

Last Game: April 28, 2017 | Return to Play: May 12, 2017 | Total Time Absent: 13 Days.
