MLB Debut of Umpire Junior Valentine

Umpire Junior Valentine made his MLB debut during Wednesday's Yankees-Braves doubleheader in Atlanta, joining Chief Mark Carlson's crew of James Hoye and Chad Whitson in Game 1.

After graduating from Wendelstedt's School, Valentine's Minor League Career traversed the 2011 Appalachian, Florida Instructional, Arizona Instructional, Carolina, Eastern, and Pacific Coast Leagues, as well as the Arizona Fall League.

He officiated the 2015 XM All-Star Futures Game in Cincinnati and 2019 Triple-A All-Star Game in El Paso. In college, he played baseball at Maryville (Tennessee).

Valentine is the 17th MiLB umpire to debut during MLB's 2020 regular season.
