Ejections: Tom Hallion (2)

HP Umpire Tom Hallion ejected Astros second baseman Bill Hall for arguing a strike call in the top of the 7th inning of the Astros-Reds game. With none out and none on, Hall took a 0-0 cutter and 0-1 slider from Reds pitcher Logan Ondrusek for called first and second strikes. Replays indicate all callable pitches during Hall's at bat were accurately ruled, the call was correct. At the time of the ejection, the Reds were leading, 6-1. The Reds ultimately won the contest, 10-4.

This is Tom Hallion (20)'s second ejection of 2011.

Tom Hallion is owned as a Primary Umpire by zcr57, who is now in 2nd place in the UEFL with 8 points.

This is the 28th ejection of 2011.

  1. I think Hallion has looked good, but he has taken shit from several batters over the course of the game. He might have missed one slightly outside to ring Brandon Phillips earlier.

  3. @Anonymous, except that this one wasn't a strike three looking. Too bad too.

  5. @clement30, I think that just goes to show that even 50 years+ ago, we still had second guessing of umpires and controversy.

  6. Man, Tommy was some sort of hot. That's the most angry I've seen him in a while.

  8. Hall says "I said ‘dammit’ going back to the dugout, and he threw me out of the game" That's a nice try, but the field microphone clearly picks up "that's f--in bulls---". Don't know how that could be anything but directed at the umpires strike call.

  9. @clement30: I wonder if the NYY/BOS games took 3 hours back then, too.
