MLB Ejection 135: Bill Welke (1; Yunel Escobar)

HP Umpire Bill Welke ejected Rays SS Yunel Escobar for arguing a strike one call in the bottom of the 8th inning of the Brewers-Rays game. With one out and three on, Escobar took a 0-0 fastball from Brewers pitcher Marco Estrada for a called first strike. Replays indicate the pitch was located off the outer edge of home plate and thigh high (px .981, pz 2.129), the call was incorrect. At the time of the ejection, the Rays were leading, 4-1. The Rays ultimately won the contest, 5-1.

This is Bill Welke (52)'s first ejection of the 2014 MLB Regular Season.
