Injury Scout - Tom Hallion Leaves Boston in 1st Inning

HP Umpire Tom Hallion left Tuesday's #Twins-#RedSox game due a 1st inning head injury.

With two out in the bottom of the 1st inning, Red Sox batter Xander Bogaerts fouled a first-pitch 92.8-mph fastball from Twins pitcher Griffin Jax into Hallion's traditional-style facemask.

Hallion, who remained in the game to complete Bogaerts' inning-enind at-bat, was replaced behind home plate prior to the top of the 2nd inning by 2B Umpire and acting crew chief Phil Cuzzi with 1B Umpire Mark Ripperger and 3B Umpire Cory Blaser remaining on the lines.
