Injury Scout - Pitch Bounces Into Brian Knight's Jaw

HP Umpire Brian Knight left Monday's #Yankees-#Royals game due a 2nd inning head injury.

With one out in the top of the 2nd inning, Yankees batter Luke Voit took a 0-1 curveball from Royals pitcher Carlos Hernandez in the dirt for ball one. The pitch bounced in front of home plate and evaded catcher Cam Gallagher, bouncing directly into the jaw portion of Knight's traditional-style facemask.

Knight was replaced behind home plate prior to the top of the 4th inning by 3B Umpire Pat Hoberg with 1B Umpire and Crew Chief Bill Miller remaining on the right field line and 2B Umpire Doug Eddings shifting over to third base.
