Instant Replay Review overturned 1B Umpire Marcus Pattillo's out call in the top of the 5th inning of the Cubs-Marlins game. With none out and one on, Cubs batter Darwin Barney hit a 0-1 slider from Marlins pitcher Nathan Eovaldi on the ground to shortstop Adeiny Hechavarria, who threw to second baseman Rafael Furcal to first baseman Garrett Jones as Barney arrived at first base, Cubs baserunner R1 John Baker out at second. Upon Replay Review as the result of a challenge by Cubs Manager Rick Renteria, Pattillo's ruling was reversed, the call was incorrect. At the time of the review, the game was tied, 1-1. The Cubs ultimately won the contest, 6-1.
