HP Umpire Paul Nauert ejected Rays 1B James Loney for arguing a strike three call in the top of the 6th inning of the Rays-Athletics game. With two out and none on, Loney took a 3-2 changeup from A's pitcher Sonny Gray. Replays indicate the pitch was located over the outer half of home plate and below the hollow of the knee (px .571, pz 1.484 [sz_bot 1.89 / MOE 1.81]), the call was incorrect. At the time of the ejection, the Rays were leading, 2-1. The Rays ultimately won the contest, 5-4.
This is Paul Nauert (39)'s second ejection of 2015.
Chris Segal now has 3 points in the UEFL Standings (3 Previous + 2 AAA/Penalty - 4 Incorrect = 3).
Crew Chief Tim Welke now has 8 points in Crew Division (6 Previous + 0 Incorrect Call = 8).
This is the 173rd ejection of the 2015 MLB Regular Season.
This is the 76th player ejection of 2015. Prior to ejection, Loney was 1-3 (SO) in the contest.
This is the Rays' 4th ejection of 2015, T-4th in the AL East (TOR 10; BOS 8; NYY 5; BAL, TB 4).
