MLB Ejection 135 - Jerry Layne (3; Phil Nevin)

HP Umpire Jerry Layne ejected Angels manager Phil Nevin (ball two and four calls to Manny Machado; QOCY) in the bottom of the 7th inning of the #Angels-#Padres game. With one out and two on, Padres batter Machado took a 1-1 sweeper and 3-2 fastball from Angels pitcher Jacob Webb for called second and fourth balls. Replays indicate the pitch ruled ball two was located over the inner half of home plate and above the midpoint (px -0.56, pz 3.72 [sz_top 3.62 / RAD 3.74 / MOE 3.66]) and the pitch ruled ball four was located over the inner half of home plate and below the hollow of the knee (px -0.38, pz 1.66 [sz_bot 1.73 / RAD 1.61 / MOE 1.69]), the call was correct. At the time of the ejection, the game was tied, 3-3. The Padres ultimately won the contest, 5-3.
