MLB Ejections 077-8 - Jeremie Rehak (SD x2 ABS Denial)

HP Umpire Jeremie Rehak ejected Padres infield coach Ryan Goins and manager Craig Stammen (ABS challenge denial/strike call; QOCN) in the bottom of the 4th inning of the #Rockies-#Padres game. With none out and one on, Padres batter Xanger Bogaerts took a 1-0 sinker from Rockies pitcher Michael Lorenzen for a called first strike and requested an ABS challenge, which was denied by HP Umpire Rehak. Replays indicate the pitch was located over the outer half of home plate and below the hollow beneath the knee (px 0.46, pz 1.28 [sz_bot 1.66 / RAD 1.54 / MOE 1.50]), the call was incorrect. At the time of the ejections, the Rockies were leading, 4-2. The Padres ultimately won the contest, 8-7.

MLB Ejections 062-3 - Nick Mahrley (SD Goins, Stammen)

HP Umpire Nick Mahrley ejected Padres infield coach Ryan Goins and manager Craig Stammen (check swing strike two call by 1B Umpire Ben May on Fernando Tatis) in the top of the 1st inning of the #Padres-#Dodgers game. With none out and none on, Padres batter Tatis attempted to check his swing on a 0-1 fastball from Dodgers pitcher Emmet Sheehan, ruled a ball by HP Umpire Mahrley and a swinging strike by 1B Umpire May. At the time of the ejections the game was tied, 0-0. The Padres ultimately won the contest, 5-2.

MLB Ejection 156 - Junior Valentine (3; Ryan Goins)

HP Umpire Junior Valentine ejected Angels interim bench coach Ryan Goins (ball four call to Trevor Larnach; QOCY) in the top of the 5th inning of the #Twins-#Angels game. With none out and none on, Twins batter Larnach took a 3-2 sinker from Angels pitcher Andrew Chafin for a called fourth ball. Replays indicate the pitch was located off the inner edge of home plate and below the hollow beneath the knee (px 0.94, pz 1.52 [sz_bot 1.81 / RAD 1.69]), the call was correct.* At the time of the ejection, the Angels were leading, 3-1. The Angels ultimately won the contest, 4-3.

MLB Ejection 015 - Dan Iassogna (1; Ryan Goins)

3B Umpire Dan Iassogna ejected Angels infield coach Ryan Goins (balk no-call on Rays pitcher Pete Fairbanks; QOCY) in the top of the 9th inning of the #Angels-#Rays game. With one out and two on, Angels batter Anthony Rendon took a 1-2 slider from Rays pitcher Fairbanks as baserunner R2 Jo Adell successfully stole third base. Goins argued Fairbanks balked due to failing to come to a stop prior to delivery while in Set Position with runners on base. Replays indicate pitcher Fairbanks momentarily stopped, the call was correct. At the time of the ejection, the Rays were leading, 4-3. The Angels ultimately won the contest, 5-4.

This is Dan Iassogna (58)'s 1st ejection of 2024.
Official Baseball Rule 6.02(a)(13) states, "If there is a runner, or runners, it is a balk when the pitcher delivers the pitch from Set Position without coming to a stop."
