MLB Ejection 133: Alan Porter (3; Mike Redmond)

3B Umpire Alan Porter ejected Marlins Manager Mike Redmond for arguing an out of the base path no-call (safe) in the bottom of the 8th inning of the Marlins-Braves game. With one out and one on, Braves batter Chris Johnson hit a 3-2 fastball from Marlins pitcher Sam Dyson on the ground to shortstop Adeiny Hechavarria, who threw to catcher Jarrod Saltalamacchia to third baseman Casey McGehee as Braves baserunner R3 Jason Heyward retreated to third base. Replays indicate Heyward legally remained within the confines of his established legal base path when returning to third base, the call was correct.* At the time of the ejection, the Braves were leading, 5-1. The Braves ultimately won the contest, 6-1.

This is Alan Porter (64)'s third ejection of the 2014 MLB Regular Season.
Alan Porter now has 15 points in the UEFL Standings (11 Prev + 2 MLB + 2 Correct Call = 15).
Crew Chief Joe West now has 10 points in Crew Division (9 Previous + 1 Correct Call = 10).
*Rule 7.08(a)(1) states that any runner is out when "He runs more than three feet away from his base path to avoid being tagged unless his action is to avoid interference with a fielder fielding a batted ball. A runner’s base path is established when the tag attempt occurs and is a straight line from the runner to the base he is attempting to reach safely."

This is the 133rd ejection of the 2014 MLB Regular Season.
This is the 59th Manager ejection of 2014.
This is the Marlins' 4th ejection of 2014, T-3rd in the NL East (ATL 6; NYM 5; MIA, PHI 4; WAS 1).
This is Mike Redmond's first ejection since June 5, 2014 (Bill Miller; QOC = Y [Fair/Foul]).
