MLB Ejections 087-88 - Greg Gibson (2-3; LAD-SD)

HP Umpire Greg Gibson ejects Padres Manager Andy Green and Dodgers Manager Dave Roberts (Fighting; QOCU) at the end of the 1st inning of the Dodgers-Padres game. With none out and one on (R2) in the bottom of the 1st inning, after Padres batter Manuel Margot attempted to check his swing on a breaking ball from Dodgers pitcher Alex Wood, Wood confronted Padres baserunner R2 Jose Pirela alleging that he was stealing signs and relaying them to the batter, resulting in the issuance of warnings after the competition of Margot's at-bat (groundout). After the inning's conclusion, HP Umpire Gibson and 3B Umpire/Crew Chief Sam Holbrook met with both managers, during which a bench clearing incident occurred and Gibson ejected both Roberts and Green, the call was irrecusable.* At the time of the ejections, the Dodgers were leading, 4-0. The Dodgers ultimately won the contest, 10-4.
