MLB Ejection 023 - Adrian Johnson (1; Torey Lovullo)

HP Umpire Adrian Johnson ejected Diamondbacks manager Torey Lovullo (inadvertent foul ball point during fair ball by 1B Umpire Ryan Wills; QOCY) in the bottom of the 7th inning of the #Diamondbacks-#Marlins game. With two out and the bases loaded, Marlins batter Jazz Chisholm Jr hit a fastball from Diamondbacks pitcher Luis Frias down the right-field foul line, ruled fair by 1B Umpire Wills who inadvertently pointed into foul territory, as if to signaling a foul ball, which resulted in both teams stopping play as if a foul ball and "Time" had been called. Upon crew consultation, the call was rectified as a fair ball, with runners placed as follows: R3 Garrett Cooper scored, R2 Brian Anderson scored, R1 Jacob Stallings was placed at third base, and batter-runner Chisholm was placed at second base. Replays indicate the ball was fair and the runner's placement was proper, the call was correct. At the time of the ejection, the Diamondbacks were leading, 5-2. The D-Backs ultimately won the contest, 5-4.
