NBA Ejections (2): Scott Foster, Rodney Mott, Sean Wright

Referees Scott Foster (crew chief), Rodney Mott (R) and Sean Wright (R2/umpire) ejected Bulls guard Joakim Noah and forward Taj Gibson for second technical fouls in the 4th quarter of the Bulls-Heat game. With 0:11.6 remaining in the 1st quarter, Noah received his first technical foul as part of a double technical foul sequence for unsporting argument actions with Heat forward LeBron James. With 10:13 remaining in the 4th period, Bulls guard Marquis Teague was called for a shooting foul; Noah and Gibson then proceeded to display overt actions indicating resentment to the call, resulting in Noah's second technical foul and Gibson's first. Gibson continued to violate the NBA Respect for the Game guidelines and was administered his second technical foul and disqualification. At the time of the ejections, the Heat were leading, 93-56. The Heat ultimately won the contest, 115-78.

NBA Ejections: Crawford/Mott/Stafford (x2)

Referees Joe Crawford (crew chief), Rodney Mott (R) and Derrick Stafford (R2/umpire) ejected Clippers guard Chris Paul and Grizzlies forward Zach Randolph for second technical fouls received during the 4th quarter of the Clippers-Grizzlies game. With 7:11 remaining in the 3rd quarter, Randolph received an unsporting technical foul; with 6:07 remaining in the 3rd period, Paul received his first technical foul. In the 4th period, Paul received his second unsporting technical foul with 2:29 remaining in the contest, while Randolph received his second technical foul for violating the NBA's Respect for the Game guidelines with 1:57 remaining in regulation. At the time of the Paul ejection, the Grizzlies were leading, 113-99. At the time of the Randolph ejection, the Grizzlies were leading, 115-99. The Grizzlies ultimately won the contest, 118-105, clinching the series and eliminating the Clippers from the playoffs.

NBA Ejection: Stafford/Adams/Mott (Dwight Howard)

Referees Derrick Stafford (crew chief), Bennie Adams (R) and Rodney Mott (R2/umpire) ejected Lakers center Dwight Howard for a second technical foul in the 3rd quarter of the Spurs-Lakers game. With 0:50.3 remaining in the 1st quarter, Howard was issued his first technical foul for violating the NBA's Respect for the Game guideilnes. With 9:51 remaining in the 3rd quarter, Howard committed a lost ball turnover leading to Spurs points and was assessed his second, disqualifying technical foul for unsporting conduct. At the time of his ejection, the Spurs were leading, 55-34. The Spurs ultimately won the contest, 103-82 and eliminated the Lakers from playoff contention in a four-game series sweep.

This is Derrick Stafford (9)'s third involvement with an ejection of the 2012-13 NBA season/post-season.
This is Bennie Adams (47)'s third involvement with an ejection of the 2012-13 NBA season/post-season.

NBA Ejections: Mott (x1), TFFL Day 54 / Spooner Rehab Gm

Referees Rodney Mott, Eli Roe & Leon Wood ejected Suns head coach Alvin Gentry for two consecutive conduct technical fouls in the 2nd quarter of the Clippers-Suns game. With 2:33 remaining in the period, Gentry objected to a no-call as Suns guard Goran Dragic's three-point attempt missed and was rebounded by Clippers forward Matt Barnes. At the time of the ejection, the Clippers were leading, 50-42. The Clippers ultimately won the contest,

Personnel Note: NBA Official Bill Spooner (22) served as crew chief during this weekend's Idaho Stampede vs. Los Angeles D-Fenders NBA D-League contest. Spooner's crew, which included referee Sir Allen Conner and umpire Tiffany Bird, ejected D-Fenders guard Courtney Fortson for receiving a second technical foul at 6:45 in the third quarter. Spooner was placed on the NBA officials' disabled list earlier this season with an undisclosed leg injury.

Flopping: Reggie Evans Fined $5,000 for Faking a Foul

The NBA has issued a fine in connection with a player's second violation of the league's anti-flopping rule. Reggie Evans (Brooklyn Nets) has been fined $5,000 for violating the league's policy for a second time in less than a week. This is the first fine under the league's new anti-flopping rule.
