MLB Ejection 119 - John Libka (2; Kevin Gausman)

HP Umpire John Bacon ejected Blue Jays bench player/pitcher Kevin Gausman (balls/strikes; QOCU) in the bottom of the 7th inning of the #Dodgers-#BlueJays game.* With none out and none on, Louis Varland and Brendon Little pitching, Dodgers batter Alex Freeland walked, Shohei Ohtani singled, Mookie Betts reached on a fielder's choice, Freddie Freeman walked, Will Smith walked, Max Muncy struck out, Teoscar Hernández hit a sacrifice fly, and Michael Conforto lined out. At the time of the ejection, the Dodgers were leading, 5-1. The Dodgers ultimately won the contest, 5-1.

MLB Ejections 013-14 - Chris Conroy (1-2; TOR x2)

HP Umpire Chris Conroy ejected Blue Jays pitcher Kevin Gausman in the botom of the 3rd and manager John Schneider (balls/strikes; QOCY) in the top of the 5th inning of the #BlueJays-#Yankees game. In the 3rd, Yankees batter Jasson Domínguez flied out, Oswaldo Cabrera walked, Ben Rice walked, Aaron Judge singled, Cody Bellinger hit an RBI sacrifice fly, Paul Goldschidt walked, Jazz Chisholm walked (RBI), Anthony Volpe walked (RBI), and Austin Wells doubled (3 RBI). Gausman was ejected arguing balls and strikes during a subsequent pitching change. Replays indicate of the callable pitches in the half inning thrown prior to ejection, Conroy officiated 30-of-31 correctly (97% accuracy), the call was correct.

In the 5th, with none out and none on, Blue Jays batter Guerrero took a 1-0 changeup from Yankees pitcher Max Fried for a called first strike. Replays indicate pitch was located over the over the outer edge of home plate and at the hollow of the knee (px 0.66, pz 1.69 [sz_bot 1.60 / RAD 1.48]), the call was correct.* At the time of both ejections, the Yankees were leading, 6-1. The Yankees ultimately won the contest, 11-2.

HP Umpire Laz Diaz ejected Blue Jays bench player/off-day pitcher Kevin Gausman (strike three call to George Springer; QOCY) in the top of the 7th inning of the #BlueJays-#Yankees game. With two out and one on, Blue Jays batter Springer took a called third strike on a 1-2 changeup from Yankees pitcher Luke Weaver for a called third strike. Replays indicate the pitch was located over the heart of home plate and at the hollow of the knee (px -0.25, pz 1.51 [sz_bot 1.58 [sz_bot 1.46]), the call was correct.* At the time of the ejection, the Yankees were leading, 6-3. The Yankees ultimately won the contest, 8-3.

MLB Ejections 044-45 - Jeff Nelson (3-4; ATL-MIA)

HP Umpire Jeff Nelson ejected Braves pitcher Kevin Gausman (throwing at Marlins batter Jose Urena) in the bottom of the 2nd and Marlins Manager Don Mattingly (strike one call; QOCU) in the bottom of the 6th inning of the Braves-Marlins game. In the 2nd, with two out and two on (R2, R3), Marlins batter Urena took a first-pitch fastball from Gausman for a called first ball. Replays indicate the pitch was thrown behind Urena and was ankle-high; no warnings had previously been issued, the call was irrecusable. At the time of Gausman's ejection, the game was tied, 1-1.

In the 6th, with one out and one on (R1), Marlins batter Jorge Alfaro took a 3-0 pitch from Braves pitcher Touki Toussaint for a called first strike. Replays indicate the pitch was located around the hollow of the trailing knee and over the outer half of home plate; StatCast malfunctioned and failed to track this pitch; there are no px nor pz variables to report because the pitch tracking computer failed to track the following pitches during this at-bat: Ball 2 (Pitch #2), Ball 3 (Pitch #3), Strike 1 (Pitch #4), and the pitch Alfaro put into play (Pitch #6), the call was irrecusable.* At the time of Mattingly's ejection, the Braves were leading, 5-1. The Braves ultimately won the contest, 7-2.

MLB Ejection 022-23 - Sam Holbrook (1-2; Gausman, Jones)

HP Umpire Sam Holbrook ejected Orioles pitcher Kevin Gausman (Throwing At Red Sox batter Xander Bogaerts) in the bottom of the 2nd and Orioles CF Adam Jones (Balls/Strikes) in the 5th inning of the Orioles-Red Sox game. In the 2nd, with none out and none on, Bogaerts took a first-pitch slider from Gausman for a hit-by-pitch. Replays indicate the pitch was located 23.7 inches inside and hip-high, the call was irrecusable. Bogaerts was the first hit batsman of Wednesday's game, and second of the three-game series (Red Sox batter Rookie Betts received a HBP from Orioles pitcher Dylan Bundy on Monday; Chris Sale threw behind Manny Machado on Tuesday, after which MLB Commissioner Rob Manfred warned both teams not to throw at each other). At the time of Gausman's ejection, the game was tied, 0-0. In the 5th, with one out and one on, Jones took a 1-2 fastball from Red Sox pitcher Drew Pomeranz before striking out swinging on the ensuing pitch. Replays indicate the pitch was located over outer edge of home plate and above the midpoint (px .808, pz 3.556 [sz_top 3.411 / MOE 3.494]), the call was incorrect. At the time of Jones' ejection, the Red Sox were leading, 4-0. The Red Sox ultimately won the contest, 4-2.
