NBA Ejections: Bill Kennedy, Mark Ayotte, John Goble

Referees Bill Kennedy (crew chief), Mark Ayotte (R) and John Goble (R2/umpire) ejected Grizzlies guard Tony Allen for a flagrant foul type two in the 1st quarter of the Grizzlies-Clippers game. With 1:51 remaining in the 1st period, Allen kicked Clippers ballcarrier Chris Paul in the face, resulting in the assessment of a flagrant foul penalty two and ejection. At the time of the ejection, the Grizzlies were leading, 25-13. The Grizzlies ultimately won the contest, 106-102.

NBA Ejection: Malloy/Ayotte/Poole & TFFL Day 116

Referees Ed Malloy (crew chief), Mark Ayotte (R) and Olandis Poole (R2/umpire) ejected Minnesota Timberwolves guard Jose Juan "J.J." Barea for a flagrant foul penalty two during the 4th quarter of the Heat-Timberwolves game. With 8:09 remaining in the fourth period, Barea appeared to fake a foul (flop) while defending Heat guard Ray Allen, followed by initiating contact against Allen that was interpreted as excessive and unnecessary, resulting in a flagrant foul type two call and automatic ejection from the game. Barea has already received a league-high two disciplinary actions for flopping, the most recent a $5,000 fine, issued on January 21, 2013. Timberwolves head coach Rick Adelman received a technical foul via crew chief Malloy for prolongued and unsportsmanlike arguing. At the time of the ejection, the Heat were leading, 76-70. The Heat ultimately won the contest, 97-81.

NBA Ejection: Kennedy, Ayotte & Lindsay; TFFL Day 70

Referees Bill Kennedy (crew chief), Mark Ayotte (R) and Mark Lindsay (umpire) ejected Spurs guard Stephen Jackson for a second technical foul in the 4th quarter of the Lakers-Spurs game. With 3:39 remaining in the 4th period, Jackson received his first technical following a missed shot attempt, as called by Lindsay. During a subsequent timeout at 3:32, Jackson received his second technical foul and was ejected. At the time of the ejection, the Spurs were leading, 105-99. The Spurs ultimately won the contest, 108-105.

2012 TFFL: Technical Fouls 014, 015

Day 3 of the NBA season featured one game which produced two technical fouls.

014: 56 Mark Ayotte, 11 Derrick Collins, 43 Dan Crawford: Issued to Thunder's Ibaka (double with 015).
015: 56 Mark Ayotte, 11 Derrick Collins, 43 Dan Crawford: Issued to Spurs' Jackson (double with 014).
Issued with 6:05 remaining in the 2nd quarter, at the time of the Technicals, the contest was tied, 34-34. The Spurs ultimately won the contest, 86-84.
