MLB Ejection 005 - Rob Drake (1; Justin Upton)

HP Umpire Rob Drake ejected Tigers LF Justin Upton for arguing a strike three call in the top of the 7th inning of the Tigers-Astros game. With two out and one on, Upton took a 1-2 slider from Astros pitcher Pat Neshek for a called third strike. Replays indicate the pitch was located over the heart of home plate and below the midpoint (px 0.169, pz 3.492 [sz_top 3.510]), the call was correct. At the time of the ejection, the Astros were leading, 5-4. The Astros ultimately won the contest, 5-4.

MLB Ejection 057: Clint Fagan (1; Justin Upton)

HP Umpire Clint Fagan ejected Padres LF Justin Upton for arguing a strike three call in the top of the 8th inning of the Dodgers-Padres game. With none out and none on, Upton took a 1-2 cutter from Dodgers pitcher Mike Bolsinger for a called third strike. Replays indicate the pitch was located over the inner half of home plate and midpoint high (px .455, pz 3.552 [sz_top 3.510 / MOE 3.593]), the call was correct. At the time of the ejection, the Dodgers were leading, 2-0. The Dodgers ultimately won the contest, 2-0.

MLB Ejections: Mark Carlson (2, 3; Johnson, Upton)

HP Umpire Mark Carlson ejected Braves 3B Chris Johnson for arguing a swinging strike call by 1B Umpire Tim Welke in the top of the 6th and Braves LF Justin Upton for arguing a strike two call in the top of the 9th inning of the Braves-Nationals game. In the 6th, with one out and two on, Johnson attempted to check his swing on a 1-2 slider from Nationals pitcher Craig Stammen, a decision appealed to 1B Umpire Welke. Replays indicate Johnson attempted to strike the pitch, the call was correct. At the time of the ejection, the Nationals were leading, 3-1.

In the 9th, with none out and none on, Upton took a 1-1 slider from Nationals pitcher Rafael Soriano for a called second strike. Replays indicate the pitch was located over the heart of home plate and belt-high (px .083, pz 3.282 / sz_top 3.72), the call was correct. At the time of the ejection, the Nationals were leading, 4-1. The Nationals ultimately won the contest, 4-1.

This is Mark Carlson (6)'s second, third ejection of the 2014 MLB Regular Season.

HP Umpire Paul Nauert ejected Braves LF Justin Upton for arguing a strike one call in the top of the 6th inning of the Braves-Cardinals game. With one out and one on, Upton took a 0-0 fastball from Cardinals
Upton was restrained after his ejection.

Replays indicate the first pitch was located thigh high and over the outer edge of home plate (px 0.617; sz_bot 1.570, pz 1.812), the call was correct. At the time of the ejection, the Cardinals were leading, 1-0. The Cardinals ultimately won the contest, 3-1.
