MLB Instant Replay Review S-41: David Soucy (S-2)

Instant replay reversed HP Umpire David Soucy's out call in the top of the 2nd inning of the Rockies-Dodgers game. With one out and two on, Rockies batter Jordan Pacheco hit a 0-0 pitch from Dodgers pitcher Hyun-Jim Ryu on the fly to right fielder Yasiel Puig, who threw to catcher A.J. Ellis as Rockies baserunner R3 Matt McBride slid into home plate. Upon instant replay review as the result of a challenge by Rockies Manager Walt Weiss, Soucy's ruling that Ellis tagged McBride prior to McBride's touch of home plate was reversed, the call was incorrect. At the time of the instant replay review, the game was tied, 0-0.* The contest ultimately ended in a 3-3 tie, in regulation.

MLB Instant Replay Review S-32: David Soucy (S-1)

Instant replay reversed 1B Umpire David Soucy's out call in the top of the 2nd inning of the Giants-Rangers game. With one out and one on, Giants batter Juan Perez hit a 1-0 fastball from Rangers pitcher Martin Perez to shortstop Elvis Andrus, who threw to second baseman Brent Lillibridge to retire Giants baserunner R1 Andrew Susac at second base, onto first baseman Prince Fielder as Perez arrived at first base. Upon instant replay review as the result of a challenge by Giants Manager Bruce Bochy, Soucy's ruling that Fielder caught the throw and tagged first base prior to Perez's touch arrival was overturned, the call was incorrect. At the time of the instant replay review, the Giants were leading, 1-0. The contest ultimately ended in a 4-4 tie.

Roster: MiLB Triple-A Championship Umpires

MiLB Triple-A's Championship umpiring crew headed by Chad Whitson of the International League worked Tuesday's Storm Chasers-Bulls one-run duel, won by the Storm Chasers in regulation, 2-1. The umpiring crew for the 2-hour, 58-minute championship game, played in front of 9,602 at Coca-Cola Park, was comprised of four regular season crew chiefs:

HP Umpire: Chad Whitson, International League (Regular Season Crew Chief, 0 Ejections).
1B Umpire: Gerard Ascani, Pacific Coast League (Regular Season Crew Chief, 6 Ejections).
2B Umpire: David Soucy, International League (Regular Season Crew Chief, 1 Ejection).
3B Umpire: Kellen Levy, Pacific Coast League (Regular Season Crew Chief, 7 Ejections).

MiLB: Triple-A Playoffs, Semifinal Round

Now that the Triple-A Playoffs have started, here are the crews working those Playoff Series. This information comes to us courtesy of UEFL'er and MiLB expert contributor Russ.

Triple-A postseason umpiring consists of four, 4-man crews while during the regular season, 3-man crews are generally employed. Regular season rovers are ineligible for the Playoffs. Out of the 8 Umpires from this semifinal round, PBUC will select the top 4, usually 2 from each series, to work the Championship series in each respective League.
