MLB Ejections 153-4 - Brian Walsh (2-3; NYY x2)

HP Umpire Brian Walsh ejected Yankees pitcher Devin Williams and manager Aaron Boone (ball calls to Taylor Trammel; QOCN) in the bottom of the 8th inning of the #Yankees-#Astros game. With two out and the bases loaded, Astros batter Trammel took a 2-0 fastball and 3-1 changeup from Yankees pitcher Williams for called third and fourth balls. Replays indicate the 2-0 pitch was located over the inner half of home plate and below the midpoint (px 0.71, pz 3.44 [sz_top 3.75 / RAD 3.87 / MOE 3.79]) and the 3-1 pitch was located over the inner half of home plate an at the hollow beneath the knee (px 0.45, pz 1.57 [sz_bot 1.70 / RAD 1.58]), the call was incorrect.*

With none out and none on, Diamondbacks batter Marte took a 2-2 sweeper from Padres pitcher Nick Pivetta for a called third ball. Replays indicate the pitch was located off the outer edge of home plate and belt-high (px -0.83, pz 2.67), the call was correct.* At the time of the ejection, the game was tied, 0-0. Replays indicate the pitch was located over the heart of home plate and at the hollow of the knee (px 0.19, pz 1.35 [sz_bot 1.45 / RAD 1.33]), the call was correct.* At the time of the ejection, the Guardians were leading, 2-0. The Guardians ultimately won the contest, 10-8.

HP Umpire Brian Walsh ejected Brewers manager Pat Murphy (ball calls to Tommy Pham; QOCY) in the bottom of the 9th inning of the #Cardinals-#Brewers game. With none out and none on, and Devin Williams pitching, Cardinals batter Willson Contreras was hit by a pitch, José Fermín doubled, Nolan Arenado struck out swinging, Lars Nootbar walked, Paul Goldschmidt struck out looking, Matt Carpenter walked, and Tommy Pham walked. Replays indicate that of 22 callable pitches during the half inning, Walsh officiated 20 correctly, and the two incorrect calls were both strikes in favor of Milwaukee and against St Louis, the call was correct. At the time of the ejection, the game was tied, 6-6. The Cardinals ultimately won the contest, 10-6, in 10 innings.

HP Umpire Brian Walsh ejected Mariners catcher Tom Murphy and manager Scott Servais (check swing call by 1B Umpire CB Bucknor) in the bottom of the 6th inning of the #Yankees-#Mariners game. With none out and none on, Mariners batter Murphy attempted to check his swing on a 1-1 sweeper from Yankees pitcher Michael King, ruled a ball by HP Umpire Walsh and a swinging strike on appeal by 1B Umpire Bucknor. At the time of the ejections, the Yankees were leading, 7-2. The Yankees ultimately won the contest, 10-2.
