MLB Instant Replay Review 093: Andy Fletcher (01)

Instant Replay Review overturned 1B Umpire Andy Fletcher's out call in the bottom of the 10th inning of the Dodgers-Giants game. With none out and none on, Giants batter Gregor Blanco bunted a 1-1 curveball from Dodgers pitcher Jamey Wright on the ground to Wright, who threw to first baseman Adrian Gonzalez as Blanco arrived at first base via a head-first slide. Upon Instant Replay Review as the result of a challenge by Giants Manager Bruce Bochy, Fletcher's ruling that Gonzalez caught the ball and tagged first base prior to Blanco's touch arrival was reversed, the call was incorrect. At the time of the review, the contest was tied, 2-2. The Giants ultimately won the contest, 3-2, in 12 innings.

Ugh, hate the head first slide into first base. I liked pre-replay when the umpires tended to just bang them out for what essentially is a poor baseball move.
