MLB Ejection 101 - John Tumpane (2; David Ross)

3B Umpire John Tumpane ejected Cubs manager David Ross (balk no-call; QOCN) in the bottom of the 4th inning of the #Mets-#Cubs game. With two out and one on (R1), Cubs batter Patrick Wisdom took a 1-2 slider from Mets pitcher Carlos Carrasco for a called second ball by HP Umpire Brennan Miller, affirmed as no swing on appeal by 1B Umpire Marvin Hudson. Replays indicate that during Carrasco's pitch sequence, Carrasco engaged in a double-set by coming set with his hands together in front of his body, approximately waist-high, followed by coming set again with his hands together in front of his body, approximately shoulder/neck-high; also called a start-stop balk, the no-call was incorrect. At the time of the ejection, the Mets were leading, 4-0. The Mets ultimately won the contest, 8-0.
