HP Umpire Carlos Torres ejected Yankees pitching coach Matt Blake (ball two call to Nick Kurtz; QOCY) in the top of the 3rd inning of the #Athletics-#Yankees game. With one out and none on, A's batter Kurtz took a 1-0 fastball from Yankees pitcher Will Warren, ruled a ball by HP Umpire Torres. New York declined to challenge the pitch call. Replays indicate the pitch was located off the inner edge of home plate and thigh-high (px 0.80, pz 3.10 [sz_top 3.41]), the call was correct.* At the time of the ejection, the Yankees were leading, 2-0. The Athletics ultimately won the contest, 3-2.

Replays indicate the pitch was located off the outer edge of home plate and waist-high (px -1.22, pz 2.84), the call was incorrect. Carpenter then took a 2-2 fastball from Stratton for a called third strike, resulting in Blake's ejection. HP Umpire Greg Gibson ejected Yankees pitching coach Matt Blake (fair ball call; QOCN) in the top of the 3rd inning of the #WhiteSox-#Yankees game. With one out and one on (R1), White Sox batter Tim Anderson hit a 1-1 changeup from Yankees pitcher Luis Severino on the ground, fielded along the third baseline by Severino and ruled a fair ball by HP Umpire Gibson. Replays indicate the batted ball appeared to strike Anderson's foot in the batter's box (this is not a reviewable play), the call was incorrect. At the time of the ejection, the game was tied, 0-0. The White Sox ultimately won the contest, 5-0.
