HP Umpire Emil Jimenez ejected White Sox manager Pedro Grifol (strike three call to Tommy Pham; QOCY) in the top of the 7th inning of the #WhiteSox-#Guardians game. With one out and two on, White Sox batter Pham took a 3-2 slider from Guardians pitcher Hunter Gaddis for a called third strike. Replays indicate the pitch was located over the outer edge of home plate and at the hollow of the knee (px 0.62, pz 1.59 [sz_bot 1.63 / RAD 1.51]), the call was correct.* At the time of the ejection, the Guardians were leading, 6-4. The Guardians ultimately won the contest, 7-6.

HP Umpire Mark Wegner ejected White Sox SS Tim Anderson, Guardians 3B Jose Ramirez, Guardians manager Terry Francona, White Sox manager Pedro Grifol, Guardians 3B Coach Mike Sarbaugh, and Guardians pitcher/bench (bullpen) player Emmanuel Clase (fighting) in the bottom of the 6th inning of the #WhiteSox-#Guardians game. With one out and one on, Guardians batter Ramirez hit a 2-2 changeup from White Sox pitcher Michael Kopech on a ground ball to right fielder Oscar Colas, who threw to second base as Ramirez slid in safely. After being called safe by 2B Umpire Malachi Moore, Ramirez took exception to White Sox shortstop Anderson straddling him to make a tag and the two engaged in a fight, resulting in a benches-clearing incident and bona fide brawl. At the time of the ejections, the White Sox were leading, 5-1. The White Sox ultimately won the contest, 7-4.

HP Umpire Pat Hoberg ejected White Sox manager Pedro Grifol (untimely Replay Review challenge of 2B Umpire Nestor Ceja's safe call at second base; QOCY) in the bottom of the 6th inning of the #WhiteSox-#Dodgers game. With one out and the bases loaded, Dodgers batter Austin Barnes hit a 0-1 sinker from White Sox pitcher Aaron Bummer on the ground to shortstop Tim Anderson, who threw to second baseman Elvis Andrus as Dodgers baserunner R1 Miguel Vargas slid into second base, ruled safe by 2B Umpire Ceja. Replays indicate Grifol failed to timely signal a hold immediately after the conclusion of the play with HP Umpire Hoberg, such that his subsequent attempt to challenge the call with 1B Umpire Jacob Metz was untimely, the call was correct.* At the time of the ejection, the game was tied, 2-2. The White Sox ultimately won the contest, 8-4.

MLB Ejection 031 - Marvin Hudson (2; Pedro Grifol)

HP Umpire Marvin Hudson ejected White Sox manager Pedro Grifol (warnings after Luis Robert HBP) in the bottom of the 1st inning of the #Rays-#WhiteSox game. With one out and none on, White Sox batter Andrew Vaughn hit a 1-0 cutter from Rays pitcher Zach Elfin for a home run. Ensuing White Sox batter Robert then took a first-pitch fastball for a hit-by-pitch. Replays indicate the pitch was located inside and struck Robert's lower back, upon which a crew consultation was effected and warnings were issued; Grifol was ejected for coming onto the playing field to dispute a warning, the call was irrecusable.* At the time of the ejection, the game was tied, 1-1. The Rays ultimately won the contest, 3-2.

MLB Ejection 030 - Marvin Hudson (1; Pedro Grifol)

1B Umpire Marvin Hudson ejected White Sox manager Pedro Grifol (safe call after replay review denial [late challenge request]; QOCY) in the top of the 8th inning of the #Rays-#WhiteSox game. With two out and none on, Rays batter Josh Lowe hit a 1-0 changeup from White Sox pitcher Reynaldo Lopez on the ground to catcher Yasmani Grandal, who threw to first baseman Andrew Vaughn as Lowe arrived at first base, ruled safe by 1B Umpire Hudson. Chicago failed to challenge this play (there were no Replay Reviews earlier in the game). Replays indicate Vaughn's foot appeared to be off the bag when he caught the baseball and that manager Grifol failed to indicate his challenge request prior to the expiration of the 15-second timer following the hold signal immediately after the play, the call was correct. At the time of the ejection, the Rays were leading, 13-2. The Rays ultimately won the contest, 14-5.
