Upon Instant Replay Review as the result of a challenge by Pirates Manager Clint Hurdle, Barrett's ruling that Davis did not legally tag first base while in possession of the ball ahead of Molina's touch arrival, the call was correct. At the time of the review, the Cardinals were leading, 2-0. The Cardinals ultimately won the contest, 7-0.
