MLB Replay Reviews 354-355: Barber, Hallion (05, 02)

Instant Replay Review upheld 1B Umpire Sean Barber's out call in the top of the 2nd and confirmed 2B Umpire Tom Hallion's live ball (in play/no HR) call in the bottom of the 6th inning of the Astros-Mariners game. In the 2nd, with one out and none on, Astros batter Alex Presley hit a 1-2 changeup from Mariners pitcher Felix Hernandez on the ground to shortstop Willie Bloomquist, who threw to first baseman Justin Smoak as Presley arrived at first base. Upon Replay Review as the result of a challenge by Astros Manager Bo Porter, Barber's ruling was affirmed, the call was correct. At the time of the review, the Mariners were leading, 2-0.

In the 6th, with one out and none on, Mariners batter Mike Zunino hit a 0-1 changeup from Astros pitcher Rudy Owens on a line drive to deep right field and off the top of the wall. Upon Replay Review as the result of a request by Mariners Manager Lloyd McClendon and initiation by Crew Chief Tom Hallion, Hallion's ruling was affirmed, the call was correct. At the time of the review, the Mariners were leading, 3-1. The Mariners ultimately won the contest, 6-1.
