MLB Ejection 076 - Greg Gibson (1; Brandon Hyde)

HP Umpire Greg Gibson ejected Cubs Bench Coach Brandon Hyde (Unsportsmanlike-NEC; QOCU) in the top of the 4th inning of the Cubs-Reds game. With two out and none on, Cubs batter Willson Contreras requested and was granted "Time" after taking a called ball from Reds pitcher Anthony DeSclafani. Replays indicate that after Contreras stepped out of the batter's box, Gibson held his right palm to the pitcher, thus indicating that time was out and the ball was dead; audio indicates Hyde complained to Gibson, "leave him the f* alone" after Gibson asked if Contreras was ready to resume his at-bat; there were no called strikes against Contreras nor any other incorrect pitch location rulings during the inning, the call was irrecusable. At the time of the ejection, the Reds were leading, 8-1. The Reds ultimately won the contest, 11-2.

This is Greg Gibson (53)'s first ejection of 2018.
Greg Gibson now has 0 points in the UEFL Standings (-2 Prev + 2 MLB + 0 Irrecusable Call = 0).
