MLB Ejection 004 - Vic Carapazza (1; Matt Carpenter)

HP Umpire Vic Carapazza ejected Cardinals 3B Matt Carpenter (check swing strike three call by 3B Umpire Jordan Baker) in the top of the 11th inning of the Cardinals-Pirates game. With none out and none on, Carpenter attempted to check his swing on a 2-2 cutter from Pirates pitcher Steven Brault, ruled a ball by HP Umpire Carapazza and a swinging strike on appeal by 3B Umpire Baker. Call was reviewed and affirmed by the UEFL Appeals Board (8-0-1), the call was correct. At the time of the ejection, the game was tied, 5-5. The Cardinals ultimately won the contest, 6-5, in 11 innings.

This is Vic Carapazza (19)'s first ejection of 2019.
