MLB Replay Reviews 460-461: Hamari, Miller (04, 04)

Instant Replay Review overturned 1B Umpire Adam Hamari's out call in the top of the 6th and confirmed 3B Umpire Bill Miller's safe call in the top of the 9th inning of the Red Sox-Tigers game. In the 6th, with none out and none on, Red Sox batter Dustin Pedroia hit a 1-2 slider from Tigers pitcher Max Scherzer on the ground to shortstop Eugenio Suarez, who threw to first baseman Miguel Cabrera as Pedroia arrived at first base. Upon Replay Review as the result of a challenge by Red Sox Manager John Farrell, Hamari's ruling was reversed, the call was incorrect. At the time of the review, the Tigers were leading, 5-2.

In the 9th, with one out and one on, Red Sox baserunner R2 Xander Bogaerts attempted to steal third base off Tigers pitcher Joe Nathan. Upon Replay Review as the result of a challenge by Tigers Manager Brad Ausmus, Miller's ruling was affirmed, the call was correct. At the time of the review, the Tigers were leading, 8-5. The Tigers ultimately won the contest, 8-6.
