Replays indicate no controversial or close calls occurred prior to the ejection, although the broadcaster suggested carryover from the previous game in relation to a check swing strike call, the call was irrecusable. At the time of the ejection, the Angels were leading, 5-0. The Angels ultimately won the contest, 5-2.
