MLB Ejection 018: James Hoye (1; Bud Black)

HP Umpire James Hoye ejected Padres Manager Bud Black for arguing a strike one call in the top of the 2nd inning of the Padres-Cubs game. With none out and one on, Padres batter Will Middlebrooks took a 0-0 sinker from Cubs pitcher Jon Lester for a called first strike. Replays indicate the pitch was located over the outer half of home plate and hollow-of-the-knee high (px 0.497, pz 1.540 [sz_bot 1.600 / MOE [1.517]), the call was correct. At the time of the ejection, the Cubs were leading, 2-0. The Padres ultimately won the contest, 5-2.
