Ejection 134: Angel Campos (6)

1B Umpire Angel Campos ejected Marlins Manager Ozzie Guillen for arguing a balk no-call in the top of the 3rd inning of the Marlins-Diamondbacks game. With two out and one on, Diamondbacks pitcher Tyler Skaggs attempted to pick off Marlins baserunner R1 Jose Reyes, Diamondbacks first baseman Paul Goldschmidt to second baseman Aaron Hill. Replays indicate Skaggs legally performed his pickoff maneuver, stepping toward first base and not making a natural motion to commit him to the pitch, the call was correct. At the time of the ejection, the contest was tied, 2-2. The Diamondbacks ultimately won the contest, 3-2.

This is Angel Campos (84)'s 6th ejection of 2012.
Angel Campos now has 23 points in the UEFL (18 Previous + 3 AAA + 2 Correct Call = 23).
Crew Chief Jim Joyce now has 4 points in the UEFL's Crew Division (3 Previous + 1 Correct Call = 4).

UEFL Standings Update

This is the 134th ejection of 2012.
This is the 65th Manager ejection of 2012.
This is the Marlins' 3rd ejection of 2012, T-3rd in the NL East (NYM 8; ATL 4; MIA, PHI 3; WSH 0).
This is Ozzie Guillen's first ejection since June 26 (Dan Bellino; QOC = Correct).
This is Angel Campos' first ejection since August 16 (Matt Kemp & Joe Blanton; QOC = Correct).

Why was campos called up? I was at the game Monday and he wasnt on the crew

Will, it is a double header Today and if you work behind the Plate during one of the double header games you don't work at all in the other one so they call up a AAA guy to take their place on the bases.

Also Scott Barry ejected Ned Yost and Ed Hickox ejected Manny Acta. Both of their first ejections of the season and both were good calls.

Campos back to his rabbit ear antics! I mean Guillen did throw water in the dugout but he has a thing for hearing things that others don't. Funny how there are three ejections today just in the afternoon games! Also funny how Campos threw him out and not Hoye, who would be the one that would call the quick pitch if anyone- I guess after last years blown call (Cubs- White Sox) Guillen did not want to argue with Hoye.

campos has had a tough stretch! Kemp and know Guillen he has to get rid of the rabbit years and stop acting like a AAA call up!!!! three ejections today just in the afternoon games! including barry's and hickox's firsts since

Hoye got that call right last year and I think he was right again Today. I'm not seeing a quick pitch at all here. It seems that Campos ejected because of the thrown water, Hoye's beef was not initially with Campos but with Hoye. That changed after the ejection because Ozzie clearly felt the ejection was unwarranted. I don't hink this is rabbit ears because Ozzie was not ejected for what he said, but Campos needs to stop with the dugout watching. Even if this ejection was warranted, Campos has a bad reputaion as a dugout watcher/listener and it does not bode well for him. That is now 11 total ejections for him this season, he has 6 in the majors and 5 in AAA. That is way too many ejections.

I meant Ozzie's beef, not Hoye.

There is no such thing as "way too many ejections". Stuff happens. Some guys may end up with none in a season and some may end up with 8 or 10 and it may be opposite the following year.

I bet all you "rabbit ear" whiners probably have lips between your legs instead of stones. If you're a plumber and don't understand the do's and don't s in the Show than stfu!!!! Ozzie was acting like an ass putting on a clownshow and Angel looked over and saw him throw the water on the field. Bam!!!! Ozzie..you're done...get the #@!& outta here!!!! It's less about Angel and more about managers who whine and get run. If you're an amateur plumber who likes to armchair umpire than don't come on here and show your ignorance.

Another thing, MLB Supervisors have their golden boys and that may or may not be the case with Angel but regardless their not going to move him up and down if he can't work. Randy Marsh, Chuck Merriweather, Cris Jones, etc. don't care what any amateur plumbers have to say about their boys. The rookies are always going to catch more $hit. I guarantee Angel gets an earful from a supervisor if he doesn't run Ozzie for showing his a$s.

Ok thanks Russ that was something I had no idea about but am glad to know now

That video is virtually useless.

I agree with Cricket. That video shows absolutely nothing of what happened, and doesn't even show the ejection...

What a horrible video. I hope they come up with a better one. They probably wont though.

Don't forget Ozzie is a Castro loving idiot,he should be managing in Cuba.

It's unfortunate that not even with CPR can Jim Joyce save Angel Campos's professional aspirations after this year.

It appears MLBAM mixed two plays on two videos. The first video link I have attached is video of the actual play. The second video link attached ("ejected") is video of the actual ejection, yet taken out of context as Guillen was not arguing the non-time out call at home plate that resulted in a ball to his batter.

Cant blame Campos on this one. Ozzie tossed water all the way out to the baseline... even my dead grandmother could see that from his position. You cant throw crap on the field. Easy EJ if there ever was one.

Multi-tasking Jim Joyce. Ozzie argues the call during the inning break and 2B Umpire Joyce keeps time on the stopwatch all while keeping Ozzie away from Campos.

Anonymous said...

Think about it logically. Ozzie has no reason to argue the time out call. The pitch was a ball to his player. The pickoff on the other hand, that play got his team in trouble.

I dont think anyone relizes Campos has spent more time in the majors than he has in the minors the last couple of years.

I don't think most of the plumbers that post stuff on here realize a lot of stuff.

Didn't that cheapshot Ozzie argue when Buehrle was balked on this move last year in Chicago, that it wasn't a balk. Now, he wants a balk on this type move. Go figure.

I'll bet 10-1 on the money, there's not much to worry about when you eject Ozzie. Chuck and Randy tell MLB, "we will talk to him".
Then a call is placed to Angel.......
(ring, ring) "Nice job kid, keep working hard".

Just paid a plumber $70 an hour. Bad example, plumbers are asleep, or counting their money.
