1B Umpire Nic Lentz ejected Red Sox 1B Willson Contreras (check swing strike three call) in the bottom of the 2nd inning of the #Nationals-#RedSox game. With one out and two on, Red Sox batter Contreras attempted to check his swing on a 1-2 slider from Nationals pitcher Miles Mikolas, ruled a ball by HP Umpire Edwin Moscoso, and called a swinging strike on appeal by 1B Umpire Lentz. At the time of the ejection, the Red Sox were leading, 5-1. The Red Sox ultimately won the contest, 6-3.
