MLB Ejection & Replay Review: Bob Davidson (10|3)

1B Umpire Bob Davidson ejected Angels Manager Mike Scioscia for arguing an Instant Replay Review decision that overturned Davidson's HR call in the bottom of the 5th inning of the Athletics-Angels game. With one out and one on, Angels batter Mike Trout hit a 2-2 cutter from Athletics pitcher Jesse Chavez on a fly ball to deep right-center field near the top of the outfield wall, where it came into contact with spectators. Upon Replay Review as the result of a request by Athletics Manager Bob Melvin and initiation by Crew Chief Davidson, Davidson's ruling was reversed, the call was incorrect. Replays indicate the spectators reached out of the stands and over the playing surface, making contact with a live ball, the call was correct. At the time of the review, the Angels were leading, 4-1. At the time of the ejection, the Angels were leading, 3-1. The Angels ultimately won the contest, 4-1.
