MLB Ejections 169-170 - Danley, West (1|6; TEX)

HP Umpire Kerwin Danley ejected Rangers 1B Mitch Moreland for arguing a strike three call in the bottom of the 4th and 2B Umpire Joe West ejected Rangers Manager Jeff Banister for arguing a Replay Review decision that overturned West's in play ruling in the top of the 6th inning of the Angels-Rangers game. In the 4th, with two out and one on, Moreland took a 0-2 slider from Angels pitcher Jhoulys Chacin for a called third strike. Replays indicate the pitch was located off the outer edge of home plate and thigh high (px -1.272, pz 2.871), the call was incorrect. In the 6th, with one out and none on, Angels batter Yunel Escobar hit a line drive to right-center field, that stuck into the bottom of the right-center outfield wall, before being played by the Rangers for a putout at third base, overturned as the result of a Replay Review and challenge by Angels Manager Mike Scioscia. Replays indicate the ball stuck underneath the outfield wall and that the outfielder was unable to free it cleanly as a result, the call was correct.* At the time of Moreland's ejection, the game was tied, 0-0. At the time of Banister's ejection, the Rangers were leading, 1-0. The Rangers ultimately won the contest, 3-2.
