With one out and one on, A's batter Soderstrom took a 3-2 splitter from Blue Jays pitcher Kevin Gausman for a called third strike. Replays indicate the pitch was located over the heart of home plate and above the hollow of the knee (px -0.06, pz 1.57 [sz_bot 1.52 / RAD 1.40]), the call was correct.* At the time of the ejection, the Athletics were leading, 1-0. The Blue Jays ultimately won the contest, 8-4.
